baby driver:classic connections

How The Umbrellas of Cherbourg connects to baby driver?the musical beats(beat one)

The Umbrellas of Cherbourg is truly a musical in every sense of the word as every frame of the movie is a musical as every line of dialogue is sung as that seems very novel its a very stylish movie invention for its time as filmed in lovely color of the 1950’s and 1960’s. The actors are not singers as they do seem more real and grounded as There is none of the showboating of the big Hollywood musicals of the era as they speak it like you would every day each lyric of the movie. The Umbrellas of Cherbourg is fully of beautiful melodies and musical lines but there is no delineation between separate songs. Instead it is one continuous musical experience as Demy and composer Michel LeGrand sat at a piano writing the screenplay out page by page as each line has written notes added to the line. In an interview, LeGrand admitted to struggling through the process as a key a bit of inspiration when they translated the natural timbre of the spoken line for a scene, keeping the same rhythmic melody. It’s a classic tale about young love, loss, and the path that life leads you down which can take you off that love. It’s a classic tale as old as time itself. You loved baby driver you will adore this movie so much.

How Larceny, Inc connects to baby driver? Its a heist comedy classic with mobsters(Beat two)

The humor marries physical gags to some cute word play which makes it even more fun to watch it. Peggy Cummins is The epitome of the bad dame as she truly gives us something truly special as she is perfectly cast in the role as this British legend really shines in gun crazy. John Dall truly is amazing in his role. How does  Criss cross connect to baby driver?well its a classic crime movie.  (Beat Four)

This is a vividly emotional heist thriller that the betrayals of the heart rarely feel this raw and real as its scarring and the sexual tension is off the charts. We sympathize with Burt Lancaster falling hard for Yvonne DeCarlo as we can get why he loves her so much and unable move on without her as she is a conflicted femme fatale. Noir is at its best when making it painfully clear that there is no future for the doomed couples in these films as this classic shows us the best of noir you will enjoy it anytime even if you loved baby driver.

How does How to Steal a Million connect to baby driver?well its a romantic heist comedy(Beat Five)

Directed by William Wyler, How to Steal a Million presents a terrific opportunity to watch Peter O’Toole and Audrey Hepburn spar in a romantic heist comedy that sparkles with their wit off each other as its truly fun movie with a very wonderful acting by everyone in its cast. How does Le Samourai (1967) connect to baby driver? It’s a classic Mystery/Crime film. (Beat Ten)

Jean-Pierre Melville’s Le Samourai is the cinematic embodiment of cool. This film is unlike any Hollywood action treatment of a hitman in that it every single movement is treated like a precious gemstone. Alain Delon plays a double crossed assassin who stays one step ahead of the law in what becomes a very smart cat and mouse plot. Melville’s exact direction is a joy to behold, never wasting a line of dialogue nor a single frame. This is film-making at its leanest, trimming off any hint of excess with such fine acting makes this a gem you will simply adore if you love baby driver.

Rififi is a terrific heist movie, and one from which subsequent heist films have drawn ever since its debut upon the screen. The  famous 20-minute silent jewel heist sequence of this flim is simply marvelous to watch unfold on the screen. If you are serious about heist films or film noir this is an absolute must see as its truly a marvelous flim by Jules Dassin that you will love so much if you love baby driver.

Baby driver review(Beat fourteen:last note as  would be the ending of story)

Baby Driver is the best mix-tape ever assembled for a movie. It’s simply a marvelous movie that simply is one of best movies of the year. Edgar Wright would have never fit the 70s new wave: he belongs at Warner’s in the 30s. Baby Driver colors inside the lines. Baby driver is a stark contrast to many movies now from other recent Hollywood films praised being different enough. He wants the image on screen to matter more than the cultural conversation that occurs afterwards.

The film stars Ansel Elgort as the titular character whom truly shines in this marvelous role that shines with very emotion driven acting as he barely speaks as he feels like buster kreaton in a modern sense but so good here. Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx, Kevin Spacey, and Eiza González did their parts well and portrayed convincing mentally unstable killers that have such wonderful wit to them all as the actors played well off of each other, especially in scenes involving comedy where they nailed the punch-lines each time.

Many of the heist films of recent years have been rather disappointing when it comes to both story and technical achievement this movie is simply marvelous as it comes. The casting in Baby Driver was absolutely divine.

I cannot think of one character or actor who was misplaced or a weak link within the film as they give such wonderful performances. Writer-Director Edgar Wright delivers the sharpest dialogue and story of his illustrious career as he simply brings home his best film ever here which is a tall order coming from this amazing talented director crafting out such amazing and clever heist scenes with wonderful acting and a wonderful screenplay with wonderful direction and acting makes this movie a must see for anyone that loves classic movies.

So today I talk about Dance, Girl, Dance for the :En Pointe: The Ballet Blogathon as today’s Dorothy Arzner’s classic Dance, Girl, Dance form 1940 which happens to be one of those very classic gems that many today can say tackles a very good issue later tackled by many other films as this issue is the serious dancer struggling for identity in a cheap, commercialized world as its truly a wonderful story crafted by two women beyond the camera that was rarity in the 1940’s. I hope you check out other posts form the: En Pointe: The Ballet Blogathon thank as now to the review of this classic movie.

Dance, Girl, Dance review

Judy O’Brien is an aspiring ballerina in a dance troupe. Also in the company is Bubbles, a brash mantrap who leaves the struggling troupe for a career in burlesque. When the company disbands, Bubbles gives Judy a thankless job as her stooge. The two eventually clash when both fall for the same man.(http://www.imdb.com)

Dance, Girl, Dance is a classic tale of a struggling dancer dreaming of hitting it big.  I cannot speak objectively with movies about dance. There is no greater sense of joy than the intersection of music, plus cinema, plus movement as dance is normally one thing that makes many movies golden.  When this movie begins with eight lithe, graceful women in top hats, all moving symbiotically in frame to a jaunty tune I knew this offered so much more than just dance. It’s the drama of the dream the feelings of them as they struggle to find their place. It’s ironic that a movie “dance” in its title wouldn’t be a traditional musical, but instead a comedic drama that captures the drama beyond the dance just as much the dance. . Arzner’s blocking is incredible throughout and becomes especially significant whenever she is shooting the dancing sequences as defined by the shifting of legs, arms and hips when song begins. The action is completely linked to how they get around the room.  The shadows fill out the picture, and the windows, chairs and mirrors give layering to how the dance takes up space. It’s truly marvelous to see as its all it needs to show the dance in such a dramatic light.  The wonderful acting of Lucille Ball and Maureen O’Hara and Louis Hayward make this movie a classic. The acting of Maureen O’Hara truly shines as she takes the lead as you see her struggle is the core of the story. This movie is one of her finest performances on the screen. Lucille Ball plays a brash person that truly is giving us one of her finest hours as she is unlike the screwball we later see her become on TV. Lucille Ball truly gives us one fine dramatic role that is another highlight of this movie. Ms. Arzner has achieved a unique and decidedly pro-woman tour-de-force within this little forgotten RKO classic that remains one of her finest movies she crafted.  While closer in spirit of imagery to STAGE DOOR than any other film that I can think of, it creates its own small symbolic world full of not-quite-real characters telling a fable-like structure. It’s one classic that is forgotten by so many today  that stands among many other great dramas of dance that you should see today.

THE JUDY GARLAND BLOGATHON posts link

So today I honor Judy Garland the woman that began my love for movies. When I was a boy I recall first seeing wizard of oz as she played Dorothy as she entered the world of oz.

Dorothy entering oz began my love for movies as that sparked my love for movies. She was the first icon of stardom that I loved truly as i admired this wonderful woman that managed to take me a new world of magic as she sparked forever my love of movies. So today i am honoring her for her grand tribute to give her due as I feel to honor this wonderful woman that sparked my love for movies. The tribute to Judy garland i is done today for the THE JUDY GARLAND BLOGATHON hosted by my dear friend crystal of in the good days of classic Hollywood thanks to her for hosting this wonderful event. check out other posts form the event for days of the event. So lets begin to honor Judy garland.

So Judy garland began preforming as a little girl with her sisters at a very young age as she was always able stand out among them all. She was quite the little charmer as i will show you a clip of her early gum sisters singing now.

You can see the sisters of Judy garland and her preforming together as Judy stands out as she is the little charmer among them all.

Judy garland preformed in Pigskin Parade as she is able to convey such longing and emotion at age 14 is simply amazing. What a powerhouse! and it was just a sample of things to come for her talent. These early samples give you a small taste of the magical charm of this wonderful lady. Babes in Arms begins her larger impact as her charm and wit was starting to be mined.

Babes in Arms review

The struggle of two talented young artists, to make their own way in the show business.(plot form IMDb)

This charming classic is a very fun movie because it’s simply start of a duo that really clicked together. It was made after she shot wizard of oz which would bring her to stardom. She was a bit player and supporting actress to the bigger star of Mickey Rooney at the time. Mickey Rooney was even nominated for Best Actor which was just to put a name on ballot.  A babe in arms is a charming little gem that is fun little musical comedy that really makes both of the stars stand out as their performances are magical together. This classic gem has very good acting and direction with very fun musical numbers very much reflection of the times. It’s a fun movie that you will enjoy to watch anytime.
everybody Sing review
When boisterous Judy Bellaire (Judy Garland) encourages her fellow school chorus members to sing a classical piece with a modern swing beat, her scandalized teacher uses the musical mutiny as an excuse to expel her from the Colvin School for Girls. With the encouragement of Ricky Saboni (Allan Jones), her family’s cook, Judy decides to follow her dream and audition for a stage musical. Meanwhile, Ricky struggles to gain the affections of Judy’s sister, the lovely Sylvia (Lynne Carver).
 (plot form goggle)
Everybody Sing” is a delightful 1938 film filled with music but frankly not Judy’s best with a cast of good stars such as Judy garland and Billie Burke and Fanny Brice and Lynne Carver and Allan Jones as each do a good job with what they are given here. its frankly not their best work by a long shot honestly. Its an okay movie you may enjoy.
wizard of oz introduction

Wizard of oz was one of first movies I seen as a boy. I recall fondly when she frist enters oz it was a strike like a match to me. I instantly found a new love in my life as my love for movies.

Dorothy entering Technicolor

This scene still makes me feel a smile as i just feel its truly one of the most magical scenes in movie history.  I fondly remember as boy running TV each time it came on TV on CBS. I was so happy it was about to air on TV as it was an event to see wizard of oz. I had the tape too which watched so often as that tape had a feature that i never found ever again about making of wizard of oz which talked about this classic movie. I fondly remember Judy garland being the frist icon i ever loved as a child as an she stood as my favorite actress. The wizard of oz is the most beloved classic all time as billions of people saw this movie. a flim historian said that the magic of wizard of oz touches the child in all of us. I frist saw wizard of oz as boy later I realized this movie is a very special picture.

Wizard of oz review

Wizard of oz was one of first movies I seen as a boy. I really adore this classic so fondly the cast of legends really stands out. Judy garland gives out a wonderful performance in a star making role as Dorthy as she made the movie magical as her charm is what made it click. She sings somewhere over rainbow which may be one of my favorite songs ever as its a song that feels so magical. Frank Morgan played five roles as he played Professor Marvel / The Wizard / Doorman / Cabbie / Guard. one of few actors to play such wonderful range on a movie as he could make each role feel like their own roles as he truly makes each role stand out as he gives out such ranged acting in his wonderful acting in the wizard of oz. Ray Bolger as Hunk/Scarecrow. I would say ray’s main role as scarecrow truly shines as you see such a wonderful performance as he plays a second role as hunk in which he gives same level of wonderful charm.  Bert Lahr as Zeke/Cowardly Lion. Bart lahr as the Cowardly Lion really stands out among the cast as he was a very wonderful character actor. Jack Haley as Hickory Twicker/Tin Man. Jack Haley gives out a very wonderful performance in his acting of his role.

Margaret Hamilton as Miss Gulch/The wicked Witch of West. Margaret Hamilton plays two roles as she plays miss gulch in the intro in which she gives out such a wonderful performance in her role. The main role she plays is the wicked witch role in which she became famous for for many years as she would often come back to this role. Margaret Hamilton plays the wicked witch in such a wonderful way that she makes the wicked witch a very fun villain role that does make you far her.

Billie Burke plays Glinda the Good Witch. Billie Burke gives out such a wonderful perfomance that really is so sweet and charming as she helps make us feel happy. She always adored the role as it felt closest to her roles on the stage. Pat Walshe as Nikko may be one of the other stand out roles as he has look like a wicked monkey for movie as he truly makes us fear him but also plays the sidekick to our villain. Charley Grapewin plays Uncle Henry and Clara Blandick plays Aunt Em both of them give such good performances.

The whole cast of oz all give out such good acting. Its charm does mainly come from its musical numbers as a few were cut from the film which are all famous little songs that stood out like the jitterbug and scarecrow’s song that was cut. The movies story connects to us via a dream is how Dorothy connects to us as she faces a crisis in her life that ends her up dreaming about oz. The movie has a magical charm that always touched my heart. The ending has always seemed very wonderful to me as its ending does have a feeling that you fell like oz is what we wish upon as the farm or home may not feel as magical at times yet as it says there is no place like home in the end.

The wizard of wizard offers the cinema lover looking for magic everything they want, it’s all here, in about two hours of pure entertainment in every way from its wonderful casting to wonderful score it’s lovely sets and makeup design that’s rich and detailed and its costumes that are so amazing too. It’s wonderful in every way. Its a wonderful classic that is timeless classic you can watch anytime

The Ruth rating:

This was Judy Garland’s first young adult movie role after starring role as Dorothy Gale in The Wizard of Oz. It is among one of her best roles. I can say her as Nellie Kelly as a feisty whom feels very modern. It is Judy’s charm that gives out one of her finest roles. The cast all give out very good acting. Its a very good classic you should see today.

THE HARVEY GIRLS is one of my favorite Judy Garland movies all time. Judy Garland stars as Susan Bradley, an impressionable and very naive young woman on her way west by train, as a mail order bride. On board the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe she meets a bunch of other equally young and naive young women heading west to work as Harvey Girls. Judy plays the role with such a charm and power. She shines in this role. The cast all do a good job here. This movie is a fun little musical gem you will enjoy anytime.

Don’t you just love those old 40’s musicals? Easter Parade is certainly one of the best musicals all time. It is a classic gem that has Fred Astaire and Judy garland both together giving out their finest acting and charm to boot. It is just a charming magical duo that shines. This is one of my favorite Judy garland movies.

Fred Astaire Judy Garland Vaudeville Medley really has to be among one of my favorite musical numbers it is just pure magic and charm to watch them do this number together.

This charming beat is just a fun little beat that i just adore. I can say it is truly one of those wonderful charming song beats.

The year 1954 proved to be one of the professional best for Judy Garland as she gave out one of her finest hours on the screen. She truly shines in this role. The quintessential story of a couple, one who’s career is on the rise, the other on the decline is made extraordinary by the performances by its talents. It is just a gem to watch.

Two tragic wonderful performers, Robert Walker and Judy Garland, star as a soldier and the girl he meets in The Clock. I would say that Judy Garland shines in her finest dramatic performance as she truly gives out one of her finest hours on the screen. Robert Walker shines in his wonderful role on the screen too. This movie truly is one classic that i do love truly so much with its wonderful acting that makes it stand out. It’s a timeless classic love story you will enjoy anytime.

Vincent Minnelli makes sumptuous use of color, costumes and settings in this lush MGM musical teaming Judy Garland and Gene Kelly in their prime in this wonderful classic with wonderful songs by Cole porter produced by the Arthur freed of the MGM unit. Its cast all give out such good acting. It’s very good musical numbers all stand out. It’s truly a classic you should watch today.

A star is born was a comeback picture for Judy garland as she truly managed to give out a role that almost earned her an Oscar as she truly is one wonderful actress in this role. James mason stands out by giving a wonderful performance. The whole cast all stand out by giving out such wonderful performances. Its songs in this classic all feel natural to each part of the movie as it’s very much a reflection into a star’s life. This classic is one wonderful classic that shines among movies that you will enjoy anytime.

Judy garland will always remain in my fond heart as since a boy to now i just adore and love her truly. I can say that she had that magical charm to her that many talents today cannot match ever. She was an amazing and talented lady that could really give out such great and charming performances. She is a magical legend for all time. I am highly in love with this legend as she will forever remain in my heart as one of a kind in legends as no legend seems compare to her. Thanks for joining me in honoring this legend today for the THE JUDY GARLAND BLOGATHON hosted by my dear friend crystal of in the good days of classic Hollywood thanks to her for hosting this wonderful event. Kiss me Kate

Kiss me Kate:musical gem reviewhttps://www.facebook.com/Wolffianclassicmoviesdigest/zoom_1430411710_Kiss-Me-KateSo today i review my first Musical gem review. It’s a new feature to talk about many musicals of the past form Broadway to movies to TV productions. It’s just to talk about magical musicals of past. I would say the MGM musicals are some of the defining musicals of any age as they all remain such classics that still last to date.  Musical gems will explore the magic of musicals so let’s begin by reviewing kiss me Kate. Kiss me Kate reviewKISS ME KATE is quite easily one of the two most famous musical adaptations’ of Shakespeare for the stage and screen as the other being west side story, focusing on a theatre company putting up a musical version of ‘The Taming of The Shrew. Kiss Me Kate is quite likely the best of the musicals of the 1950’s as this is a classical MGM musical. Kathryn Grayson and Howard Keel are great as dueling ex’s. Ann miller really steals the show of course as she really is quite amazing in this movie. She truly gives us a performance that is one of the finest she ever did on the screen. Tommy Rall truly gives us an amazing role. The cast of this movie really gives us all such outstanding performances.

George Sidney’s direction crafts out a smartly crafted musical that takes many of the Broadway play into the story with its Cole Porter lyrics which are witty and smart. The musical numbers are among some of the best ever put to the screen. Ann miller sizzles in “It’s Too Darn Hot. Brush Up Your Shakespeare really is one of the most fun songs of the movie to me to watch as it’s just a delight to watch two mobsters sing such in a movie. The choreography is really great as ever in this movie. The cinematography truly really stands out as very impressive. The costumes are amazing on screen as it makes best use of Technicolor. This is very greatly crafted musical drama mixed with comedy with such wonderful acting and great direction makes its one of the MGM musicals all time.  This movie is a must see for any lover of Cole potter or MGM musicals its one of the truly best musicals all time.

To begin my story. It begins as me as a boy. I went to Wal-Mart i seen the tape of The little mermaid. I was wanting to see this movie so bad. It was just something about that drew me to this movie. I put on at my grandmother’s house as i sat back and watched it. I never seen it  such a magically charming movie like that as it was just pure and simple story that was purely magical to watch. I recall afterward often as a boy going to the store to buy a new Disney movie. It is the nature of Disney movies to seem to find a way to tell us a story that makes feel like a kid again.  It is the pure Disney magic and charm that has kept it alive for such a long time.  I decided to do a tribute to my love of all things Disney which includes my trips to their theme parks. It is purely Disney magic time to talk the magic of Disney.

It all started with a mermaid.

the_little_mermaid_by_jessid303-d8rtsr7

The tale of my love of Disney begins with a movie called The little mermaid. The movie of  The little mermaid’s tale begins ages before my birth. Plans for Disney to adapt The Little Mermaid as an animated feature date back to the late 1930s, following the success of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The film would have been an anthology of several Hans Christian Andersen fairy tales but was scrapped. It was likely for best as we had a better second film follow up with the magical Pinocchio. It was often planned often for the next 50 years until it was made into a movie in 1989 to restart the Disney animated movie cycle again after the fall of the 1980’s.  I recall often re-watching this Disney classic often. I think of it as my most treasured childhood love of a movie as I do simply think it helped shape my love for movies.  It is a fun classic gem for all time that one should watch today.

Snow white review

I grew up watching the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin. I grew up loving The parent trap is one of those ageless charming family films. It’s fun family film at heart. Although the split-screen technique had been around for a decade or so, it was usually more noted for its failures than its success, and the actor required to play dual roles usually took tremendous heat for their failure to create two physically identical but distinctly different characterizations on screen. But with THE PARENT TRAP, with the difficult dual role resting on the shoulders of an extremely young star Hayley mills whom did the job wonderfully to screen in parent trap. The heart of it all, is the bravura performance of Hayley Mills as twins Susan and Sharon. She’s never revoltingly sweet–there’s a winning streak of spice in her personality that separates her from all other child stars, plus, her kicky pre-Beatles British accent and snub-nosed beauty lend her a more worldly air than her contemporaries. The cast is wonderful as the ever wonderful Maureen O’Hara plays a leading role as the mother. Brian Keith as the father is just as wonderful as ever. A host of great character actors which includes Charles Ruggles,Una Merkel,Leo G. Carroll and Nancy Kulp among other great character actors as they all give it their all in this ever charming Disney classic as top notch acting form its cast. Actress Hayley Mills becomes a Disney legend. One British girl plays two separate American twins. That’s a feat of technical achievement by any standard. The Parent Trap is one of Disney’s greatest non-animated features and everyone should see it. Young and old. Though, it will mostly appeal to families with mischievous children. The story includes a subplot of the twin girls playing devilishly clever pranks on anyone who crosses their line. wonderfully acted, witty, and touching.

Pinocchio review

Pinocchio benefits from one of the finest collections of songs such as I got no strings on me to an actor’s life for me and when you wish upon a star.

This classic had won an Oscar for best original song for when you wish upon a star. It also won for its wonderful musical score a Oscar which is truly wonderful. It’s voice acting is also remarkable as two great talents make its fold. Cliff Edwards whom truly is one of best character actors. Mel Blanc does work too as the donkeys as he does it greatly as he is truly one of its most famous voice actors whose work shines in many animation voice roles. Dickie Jones played one great role as Pinocchio. The blue fairy is played by the remarkable Evelyn Venable a great character actress. Frankie Darro plays a great role too another great character actor in many westerns. Walter Catlett truly is another gem in the fold in his role. Another legendary character actor. One other great talent is Don Brodie a director and actor. This movie has such vast contrasts in its themes. It’s dark nature n humor mixed with joy and heartbreak it really stirs up emotions.

Pinocchio has great acting with a wonderful musical score and wonderful themes make this a truly landmark classic. So you should watch it today this classic gem.

Lady and the tramp review

Out of the many Disney classics that I love dearly. I would say i am highly fond of lady and tramp. It is so different form the many Disney fairy tales. Fairy tale about the romance between two dogs from opposite sides of the tracks gets colorful, warm, old-fashioned Disney treatment.  It is joy to watch this movie form it’s wonderful acting to its wonderful music to its purely magical story that will charm you as it’s a love story that touches you truly.  It is a classic you should see today.

Sleeping Beauty review

those classics. Sleeping beauty is my favorite as when I discovered this classic it became my favorite Disney classic. all time as this classic has the scale and depth that make it a timeless classic for the ages. Sleeping Beauty was envisioned by Walt Disney as his masterpiece. It’s his crown jewel. Walt Disney did indeed craft a crown jewel. Eleanor Audley and Mary Costa and Verna Felton, Barbara Jo Allen, Barbara Luddy and Bill Shirley are rounding out a wonderful voice cast of actors that bring to life the characters of this ever charming classic in a magical way as they are just delightful in their roles. One of the greatest things about sleeping beauty is the style of its art for its animation really stand out greatly. Its characters are just as great as they are very different then many of the normal Disney princess movies. The prince is more active in his role. The characters are richly deep. its performances in animation is some of the finest ever crafted on animation. Maleficent which is Supervised by Disney’s women’s animator-in-chief, Marc Davis has to be of the great performances in animation. She is brilliantly drawn, amazingly voiced, and the dragon she transforms into is not just a dragon: it is HER particular dragon a method taken to greater lengths in The Sword in the Stone. She is magnificent. The three fairies are quarrelsome all right, but they are caricatures that convey particularly clearly their good-naturalness and good intent. Very layered and wonderful animation by Disney. Sleeping Beauty is one of those masterpieces of animation that really stands out in every element. It’s just a truly magical movie to watch. It’s very enchanting and amazing as they come in every manner of the word. It’s a truly outstanding classic

DIsney park magic

When I first went to Disney world. It was a very stressful moment as I first came into park form a long drive there. I was tired and exhausted yet so nervous to see the parks. It was very tiresome form a long drive form Louisiana to the parks. My dad checked into it and we went to the parks that day as we entered park I think it was just so different as it went from being tired to being so happy with joy as I think when I saw it was just so charming and nice to walk down it to get to the main part of the park.  I went on a couple of rides then next day went back again to ride more and more. My first trip was to get used of the Disney parks and learn them as we did it became a such magical joy. I often return many times now. I have grown very fond of Disney world. I really love the haunted mansion. I have a fond love of its charming look and story. It is just a fun joy to ride that ride. I would say when i returned recently to see new fantasy-land it became my favorite area of Disney parks as its simply amazing how charming it is now. I went on the little mermaid ride a couple of times which is a very fun charming little gem of a ride. Another joy is riding the tower of terror that ride is simply amazing to ride.  When you are walking around magic kingdom i feel like i walk into many of the lands by chance and end up finding some charming and new each time i go to that area. I have often said that one of the simple best sites to see is the castle when you see that is just feels like pure magic and joy overcomes you. I am big lover of Disney parks. So now to review my favorite ride.  The joy of Disney parks always stays with you.

haunted mansion my favorite Disney ride.

This Dutch Gothic Revival New England mansion looks innocent enough on the outside, but 999 “happy haunts” reside inside. The Haunted Mansion long has been one of Disney’s most popular attractions at theme parks around the world, with its deft use of stagecraft to create a variety of illusions. Haunted mansion looks simple form outside as you enter into it as it is a Dutch Gothic Revival New England mansion as you enter into it. The rides charm has yet to start yet. You walk into stretch room as the joy of that room is where it starts as you just enjoy that room and feel it is just a joy to do that room then you exit to ride the ride. The ride is a joy form its start to end as you ride trough many great dark ride scenes that use many tricks of the trade to make the haunts and magic of this story come to life. It is joy form the beginning to end that you must ride today.

So this was a tribute to disney one of my joys of my life. Remember all it takes if fate and trust and little bit of pixie dust.

Pinocchio

Pinocchio was Walt Disney’s second animated film as he moved up in production from Bambi. Although Snow White is considered a special treat many regard this gem as his greatest gem. So today I look upon this classic movie in insight into this classic gem and a review of it. When you wish upon a star any dream can true. So let’s begin into this dream.

A new art is born the start of a dream.

So Walt Disney had the smash hit Snow White break open a new medium as he decided a feature animation often. He started work on many projects at the same time about as he had Bambi and Pinocchio as while in process of making Pinocchio he started another classic later called fantasia as that later classic would mix music and animation richly as that classic remains one of my favorites.  It was a hard task take this kids story that was beloved and turn it into another Disney classic as to make the puppet more friendly as the books original version wasn’t so nice and friendly.

Often many books are tasks to create a template for a movie as this was one of those cases which was harder without many changes.

One of the hardest tasks was creating the under the sea feeling in water as water in animation in that stage struggling to make it look real. One trick was put bubbles in water to create a trick of being under the sea. It works greatly. It truly is a work of magic.

Jiminy cricket was a late addition to the movie as he was such a loved idea. Disneys favorite was the movies beloved cat.

The blue fairy animation was crafted by same animation crafter of Fantasia. Another first for this classic was its use of famous actors. As budget raised up it became one of Hollywood’s most costly animation budgets of the time.

Upon its release it truly was raved upon with great reviews and beloved by many hailing it as the start of the Disney golden age. It is often stated to be favorite among filmmakers and artist and many great legends as it’s a special kind of magical tale that tells a tale that is about a wish to be a real boy. When you wish upon a star any dream can come true. So now to review this classic I hope you enjoyed insight into this classic.

Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers:Symbiotic Collaboration reviews

 Top hat review

Top hat has everything that makes a great musical work so greatly. It stars Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers alongside with Edward Everett Horton and Helen Broderick. They lead the cast in this delightfully charming musical comedy as they all give us some fine acting here.

The dancing is really stand out here as Fred and ginger are a magical duo that are a joy to watch on screen. Irving Berlin penned some wonderful musical numbers which is classic such as Isn’t This A Lovely Day, Top Hat, White Tie, and Tails, and, of course, Cheek To Cheek as they are some of the best musical numbers to film.

Cheek to cheek is one of my favorite musical numbers of the golden age. It truly is wonderful to watch that delightful to watch the feathers fly off ginger Rogers. The Piccolino is wonderful and one of the best musical numbers in the movie.

Top Hat is a terrific musical about mistaken identity that pushes the “joke” to the limit but never takes itself very seriously. Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers are perfect as actors, dancers, and pals in this engaging comedy with several great dance numbers makes it a gem for the ages.

 Shall We Dance (1937) review

This one always is considered a lesser Fred and ginger movie. It is really one of the best team ups of the duo. Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers and Edward Everett Horton and Eric Blore and Ketti Gallian and William Brisbane and Harriet Hoctor. It has really wonderful acting by all of the cast. It has the wonderful soundtrack by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin who only did it for this movie ever for Fred Astaire which is a shame as it’s one of the best soundtracks of the golden age.

Fred Astaire does a tap in an engine room in shall we dance which i do call to be one of the best musical numbers of the golden age. It is truly magical to watch Fred Astaire tap dance to the beat of the engine room. It truly is one of the golden ages finest musical scenes as it really is just pure magic to watch Fred do that number.

It is different from Astaire Rogers combos as it has such different numbers that does really mix jazz and ballet and tap to make a real good dancing moves for the duo. It has some of the greatest musical numbers ever to be done for the duo.
Shall We Dance stands out as one of the best musical gems of the 1930’s. It is truly a fun classic gem to enjoy anytime.

The Gay Divorcee (1934) review

Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers and Alice Brady and Edward Everett Horton all star in this duo’s follow up to flying down to rio. This movie teamed the leads together for the second time as it has fine acting by the cast. It has some great musical numbers and a good charm to boot makes it one of the duo’s finest classics.

Follow the Fleet (1936) review

FOLLOW THE FLEET (RKO Radio, 1936), directed by Mark Sandrich, marks the fifth pairing of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, and one of their top musicals of the era with a bright score by Irving Berlin which really shines greatly with a wonderful cast of talented legends.

Let’s Face the Music and Dance is the most memorable. It’s a production number played to an audience in this story which finds Astaire and Rogers in a Monte Carlo setting sporting their signature costume attire. It truly one magical scene as one of the finest musical numbers of any era.The delightful and many musical numbers by Irving Berlin really does make for some screen magic. It has even a few scenes of a legend that will become famous later called betty grable. It has some magical acting by everyone in the cast.

Follow the Fleet is truly a magical classic for the ages as one of the finest musicals any era.

Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers musical numbers

The duo starred in many great musicals together many of which were directed by Mark Sandrich. I would say one they are one of the best duos of talents all time together.

In Flying Down to Rio,i would say this number is one of their finest numbers together. It truly is a fun screwball dance number that is really a joy to watch as the duo really makes some magic together.

Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers Night And Day in The Gay Divorcee has them truly doing a magical dance number that really is pure magic to watch them dance together.

Cheek to cheek is one of my favorite musical numbers of the golden age. It truly is wonderful to watch that delightful to watch the feathers fly off ginger Rogers. The pure bliss of this scene as you see them dance together here. It truly shines here seeing them dance together with some fine cinematography makes the scene extra magical. It is truly among the finest of the golden age.

Swing time’s wonderful dance scene truly has some magical spark as you see them really dance with pure magic.

Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers dancing to The Piccolino. Really is something special to watch yet one of the many times they dance together which is pure magic on the screen.
